An update from our Lodge

Hello, readers!

I do apologize, I have not written in this space as much as I originally intended when I took command of Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge No. 64 as Worshipful Master in February following the passing of Worshipful Loudermilk. One is warned that stepping into the East is a radical departure from the junior officer, and even the senior officer, roles, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that this is the case. I owe Wor. Jim a debt of gratitude for many things, including having left behind a detailed plan for his year. I have not deviated from this, preferring instead to honor his foresight by executing his plan. Those who had previously agreed with him to participate this year have been warm and accommodating, and for our visitors and presenters I am also grateful.

Despite the transition, I am pleased to report that Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge No. 64 is in good health and high spirits: we have initiated, passed, and raised Masons at our Lodge this year, we have made many, many fraternal visits throughout District 1A and beyond (together with our Brothers at King Tyre #292, under the leadership of Wor. Jacques Thomas, we are showing that although Falls Church has two Lodges, we have one Masonic community!), every week our members grow in proficiency, and we are developing new programs to help every Mason live our mission: Freemasonry exists to help good men become their best selves. The Grand Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Virginia will be held the second weekend in November and we are preparing to join with the rest of Virginia Freemasonry for business and fellowship. We continue to imagine new ways of showing up in the community of Falls Church. There is continuing interest to join the Lodge from beyond our walls, and we are as excited as ever to make Masons!

Keep an eye on your inbox for information on this year’s Halloween event!

If you’ve been coming to Lodge, your continued participation is what keeps this community creating value in all of our lives. If you haven’t been to Lodge in a while, come join us for dinner! Kemper-Macon Ware Lodge No. 64 A.F. & A.M. is open for work and instruction!
